Marie has over 17 years experience supporting people of all ages and diverse abilities.Marie has professional experience in delivering individual counselling services and therapeutic groups in the fields of:
- Disability, Child and Adolescent Mental Health
- Adult Mental Health
- Bereavement and Trauma
- Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence.
She has worked extensively in both public and non-government human services settings, with a wide range of people experiencing a variety of life and health challenges.
Marie is a Clinical Social Worker with a Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Social Science and a Diploma in Community Welfare.She has a particular interest in mind-body connections and recognises the importance of body awareness and mindfulness in therapeutic interventions.
Marie is also a qualified and experienced Yoga Teacher with advanced training in children’s yoga and specialist training in Yoga for Autism and Special Needs; Yoga for (dis)Ability, Yoga Therapy and Trauma Sensitive Yoga.
When working with clients, their families and significant others; Marie uses a Strengths Based Approach and draws from a variety of specialist skills and evidence-based therapeutic techniques including:
Sensory Motor Psychotherapy
Mindfulness & Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
Solution Focussed Therapy
Creative means of expression such as embodied expression(eg. role play, games, movement) or projected expression(eg. using art therapy, sand tray, stories) may be explored in sessions.Such techniques allow indirect expression and are often highly beneficial for all clients of any age or diverse abilities.

Marie is currently awaiting her accreditation as a Mental Health Social Worker.

- Trauma Sensitive Yoga Australia registered practitioner on their referral database
