Sara Beresford Terry is a compassionate, highly skilled and qualified counsellor and mental health social worker with more than 30 years experience.
Sara Beresford Terry – Principal Counsellor & Clinical Supervisor
Sara has over two and a half decades of experience working therapeutically with children, families and adults within government, not-for-profit services and private practice, in both UK and Australia. Sara has also taught Social Work and Counselling at University and has been providing clinical supervision to other social workers and counsellors over the last 15 years.
Professional qualifications: BA in Applied Social Studies; Cert. of Qualification in Social Work (UK) & Masters Degree in Counselling (with Distinction).
Sara is committed to reflective practice, clinical supervision and on-going professional training to remain up-to-date on both advances in counselling knowledge and evidence based practice.
Training and counselling approaches:
Sara has been trained in clinical supervision and a wide range of therapeutic approaches. Sara will use her experience to select the best approach to fit your individual needs and circumstances.
Attachment and Mindfulness informed approaches, Narrative Therapy, Art, Play and creative therapies as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, may form the basis for your work together.
Sara also has extensive training in Trauma Therapy with both children and adults. Sara offers a Trauma informed and Resiliency based practice and works within a family centred and child protection framework.
