Hopefully you will feel comfortable to discuss with your counsellor or with Sara our Principal counsellor if you are unhappy with any aspect of the service you receive, so it can be more closely tailored to meet your needs.
All our counsellors work within the code of ethics of the professional organisations they are registered with:
Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
Psychotherapists and Counsellors Federation of NSW (PACFA)
If you have not been able to resolve the issues with your counsellor or the principal counsellor at Mima directly, and believe our counsellor has acted outside of these codes of ethics, you can contact the professional organisations to make a complaint. Alternatively you can contact the Australian Health Care Complaints Commission.
Sara and the other counsellors are also very happy to receive comments regarding how helpful you have found the services provided.
