Privacy & Confidentiality

When sharing details of difficult issues in your life, it is important to know they will be kept private and confidential.

At Mima Counselling Services we acknowledges the trust clients place in us and give a very high priority to maintaining your privacy and confidentiality.

If we believe you or someone else could be at serious risk of harm, our code of ethics may require us to share important knowledge to enable you (or someone else) to be kept safe. There are legal requirements for counsellors to share knowledge regarding any child at risk of harm.

At times it can be useful for your counsellor to have conversations with other helping professionals involved with you or your family. Permission will be gained from you before any information is shared.
