Nerida is part of the Mima team and offers online therapy (including EMDR and DBT) and clinical supervision services.

Nerida has over 35 years’ experience working with people with a variety of mental health and relationship issues. She provides a compassionate non-judgmental space for those, who may see their future as unclear, overwhelming or uncertain.

Using a strengths-based perspective, Nerida will help you find your voice, feel more empowered and uncover the resources you can draw upon. This will help you make steps towards a future which holds potential and fulfilment, and where you can flourish.

Her long involvement with families, couples and individuals, has taught her much about the struggles and challenges that we all face at different stages of life and relationships.

Nerida is passionate about the opportunity to work with and support other counsellors and psychotherapists. In clinical supervision with Nerida, supervisees can further develop their provision of quality, evidence based practices. She also supports supervisees to grow their practice of self-care, enabling them remain the best therapists they can be and enjoy their work.

Professional Qualifications

  • Nerida has a Master of Counselling & Psychotherapy, and is a Registered Clinical Supervisor with PACFA.

  • Nerida has also completed post graduate training as a DBT Therapist, EMDR practitioner, Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 1&2 and Community Educator, Cert IV in Training and Assessment

Therapeutic Approach

Nerida’s work is always trauma-informed; she has a breadth of evidence-based clinical skills and will tailor therapy to your situation.

Nerida has specialist training in the provision of DBT and Somatic Therapy from the Centre for Mental Health and Australian DBT Institute. She is also experienced in providing EMDR online. Nerida can offer Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

As well as working with individuals, Nerida has experience delivering therapeutic group programs for substance abuse recovery, and DBT skills development groups.

Nerida is committed to ongoing training to ensure she continues to provide up-to-date and evidence-based trauma therapy, offering a healing relationship, and helping clients develop the skills to “live a life worth living.”
